ABATE of Florida Inc SOUTHWEST CHAPTER
everyone, as always I hope this newsletter finds all in good health
and spirits.
Well April is nearly over and that means we were at the Rally in Tally state meeting. We
brought back all the info shared at the state meeting, and you will find it in the following
pages along with instructions for letter writing, e-mail and phone calls to your
representatives. Let them know that you pay taxes, you ride a bike, you VOTE, and we
are looking for their support on pending motorcycling issues.
Those of you that made the decision to travel to Tally with us this year, please share
your experience with your fellow members. Let us see if we can get an even larger group
to go next year. Come on folks get involved you will not be sorry. Speaking of
experiences let me share one of mine with you. I have had the pleasure of making the
Tally ride for quite a few years now, and one thing that never changes is the sense of
pride that you feel when you are coming down the highway and riding up over the hill,
and see hundreds of bikes in front of you, and hundreds behind you. Then there is the
moment when the capitol building comes into view. There is such a wonderful feeling
that is indescribable, but I guarantee that anyone that has made that trip knows exactly
what I am talking about.
Find information in this issue on upcoming events such as the May Safety Expo, and the
Bikers vs. Brainers. Upcoming is the June “Bike Show” at Victory Lane Café. We also
have tickets on sale now for the “Five Star Event” in July. DO NOT WAIT TILL THE
LAST MINUTE to get your tickets as there are only a limited amount of tickets available,
and you will not want to miss this premier ABATE event.
In closing I would like to thank the membership for the vote of confidence in my
nomination for president of the Southwest Chapter. I think that we have one of the best
boards of directors in place that we have ever had, and these people are the best. It has
been my pleasure to serve with them, and I look forward to a great year. Special thanks
to the board as it is you guys that make me look good.
