ABATE of Florida Inc SOUTHWEST CHAPTER
everyone, as always I hope this newsletter finds all well and in good
spirits.
June is coming to an end and with the close of the month comes elections
for the board of directors in the Southwest Chapter. We hope for a large
turnout to help in making these decisions not only successful but in the
absolute best interest of our chapter. There are some new people, as well
as some old familiar ones running for positions. It is my hope that however it
turns out we can make this new year the best ever for the Southwest
Chapter, and ABATE of Florida, Inc.
Once again I find myself running unopposed for the president’s position, and although I
welcome nominations they don’t usually come, so it is with that thought in mind that I say
to all the active members in our chapter,
“thank you for the vote of confidence” it is my
pleasure to serve. That being said, there were a few other positions with only one
nominee and all are incumbent. My most sincere thank you to these members, you all
have done a marvelous job and you are all to be commended for volunteering to do it
again. I know personally that these positions are not easily maintained, they take up alot
of your personal time, and if you let it happen it will eventually consume your life. Maybe
not such a bad thing but certainly not always good either. You have to try and find some
happy medium. Then there are a few run offs, good luck to those members and welcome
aboard.
Folks our annual “Five Star Event” is upon us. Our vice president and I have been
meeting with the 5 Star committee for a few months, and it is now up to you the
membership to come out and support your chapter, and help make this the best “Five
Star Event” ever. We need your support, please do not let us down. Tickets are available
for this event for the early purchase price of only ($25) twenty five
dollars, they will be
($30) thirty dollars at the gate. For this fee you will be in the poker run with a first prize of
($500) five hundred dollars. Also,
you will get free camping, get to listen to some local
politicians, and there will be a concert headed up by “Stones Throw”, a Rolling Stones
tribute band. Please make it a point to get your tickets early they are available at Victory
