ABATE of Florida Inc SOUTHWEST CHAPTER
39
begin to heal and begin to feel happy about life? What can you do to yourself to improve your
relationships with others? What tools can we find in scripture to help us?
The first thing which comes to mind is: 2 Corinthians 5
17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
18
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself
through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: It is one thing to read the word of God, but
it is another thing to fully accept and believe what God has done for you. Do you realize this scripture
says we are free from everything in the past, when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives? The old has
gone and the new has come! If you can receive the Lord, then we believe you can begin a renewing of
you mind and heart. Romans 12 1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer
your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual
]
act of worship.
2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and
perfect will. If you are going to renew your mind and begin to wipe those roots of bitterness and heal
damaged emotions, then offer yourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
What else does God say? Matthew 6
13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil
one.'
14
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive
you.
15
But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 18
21
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he
sins against me? Up to seven times?"
22
Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-
seven times. Luke 6
37
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not
be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Do you see a pattern here?
Please realize it says in Romans 3
23
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So,
understand that all are sinners and there is no such thing as a perfect father or mother, brother, sister,
other family member, church member, friend, husband or wife! You have to understand, in dealing and/or
interacting with people, Ephesians 6
12
our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavenly realms. So, if you need to, blame what others do, on Satan.
Then, ask God to forgive your bitterness and invite Jesus into the center of your life. If you dont like your
earthly father, then invite God to be your Father. If its a problem with a spouse, invite Jesus to be the
center of that marriage. Ask Jesus to deal with the person who has provided the hurt. Forgive them.
Pray for them. Realize your freedom in Jesus. The world may let you down, but He never will. You must
Philippians 4
4
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5
Let your gentleness be
evident to all. The Lord is near.
6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7
And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
"Dear God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, my heavenly Father, I confess, I am a sinner
and have been separated from You. I ask forgiveness of my sins. I repent and accept this gift of
repentance. I confess with my mouth that your son Jesus is my savior and died for me. I believe
in my heart, You raised Him from the dead. I receive Jesus into my heart and ask Him to become
the center of my life. I ask, in the Name of Jesus. Amen."
